DAY 41 - GRENOBLE (REST DAY)

RANDOM REST-DAY RAMBLINGS

Today was a rest day spent at Grenoble. The city had a laid back relaxed feel and there were lots of people out enjoying the sun.

Health: We were both glad of a chance to wander without backpacks and recharge our batteries. We also stocked up on more tape and dressings for our feet.

Food: We treated ourselves to a restaurant lunch at one of the many eateries. We tried to order the lunch special but the waitress explained that the sun had brought everyone out and there was none left.

French:  Russell has been told that he speaks with just a little accent while I've been told I speak it better than English - I think that was a reference to my Australian accent.

Sunny day in Grenoble for our rest day

  1. We wondered how your water proof shoes coped with the snow? We are finding out hot even though the weather has cooled down a little

    1. In rain, they stay dry for the first 2 hours unless we step in a raging torrent. In snow they are pretty good, but slippery.

  2. We also wonder about rainproof trousers...any suggestions?....how are the shoes and other gear going after 1000km?

    1. For us rainproof trousers have been a necessity. They keep out most of the water and even when some gets in you stay warm...so can be sweaty in warm weather. Ours were Aldi purchases, Lucy got hers at a sports store here for just a little bit more. Both are great!
