A day spent mostly walking alongside the Canal du Loing.
After climbing down from the town square at Château-Landon by the rampart staircase, we left the town via the picturesque Sentier des Amoureux (Lovers' Path).

We walked along a fairly quiet road until we joined the Canal du Loing, and spent the rest of the day's walk following the canals until we arrived in Montargis.
Reflections on the Canal du Loing |
The route we were taking, along the Canal du Loing and the Canal de Briare, is being developed as part of the Euro Véloroute 3, a long-distance cycling route joining Trondheim in Norway with Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Sounds like fun.

Once we had settled in to our accommodation, we went for a stroll around Montargis. The town is famous for its waterways and bridges, and we found many picturesque viewpoints to practise our photography.

Were you tempted to buy the house that is for sale in your selfie?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, looks like the weather has improved too.
How are your bodies holding up? We found on the C2K ride that after 7 days of riding that our bodies were ready to keep going on day 8 and weren’t sure why we’d stopped.
Greetings from us.
Not tempted to buy, happy with our own house! Weather has been beautiful - wearing our hats for sun protection rather than warmth now. Bodies holding up well - our soles are sore after a big day but that's about it.
