After the long months of preparation, our departure date has come with a rush. We are leaving Australia tomorrow.
We think the packing went well. We are taking lightweight, quick drying clothes, along with good waterproof walking shoes, rain jackets and pants.

Apart from clothes, we are also taking walking poles, umbrellas, toiletries, medical kit, laundry stuff, maps, diaries, camera, and chargers.

We have now packed it all up ready for the plane trip. The fluoro stuff sack will be carried inside my backpack when we're walking; it's packed separately for use as a cabin bag during the flight.

Arrangements are in place for the operation of our bookshop (Uncle Peter's Books) while we are away. I had my last pre-holiday session in the shop today. The sun has also set on our Sunday walks to the Byron Bay lighthouse, for the next few months.

Next stop France. The land of cheese, wine, lots of other drinks, patisserie, romance, tradition, joie de vivre - at a time of record unemployment, ongoing terrorist threat, migrant crisis, and disgruntled workers across many different areas of the economy. We will be walking in interesting times.
We will be starting our walk on Sunday 17 April.
Looking forward to your posts. Bon Voyage
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria. Up and running now. Well, up and walking . . .
DeleteWhat an impressive looking website - well done. We will look forward to following your adventure. Sandra is still looking to walk some of the Camino later in the year and was impressed by your packing photos.
