DAY 4 - ISNEAUVILLE TO LA-NEUVILLE-CHANT-D'OISEL

Fortified by a wonderful breakfast at our chambre d'hôte  (La Grange at Isneauville), we set off on today's stage.

A fine start to the day
We soon discovered that there are lots of hills in this part of Normandy. We started on quiet roads - downhill from Isneauville to Fontaine-les-Préaux and uphill to Roncherolles-sur-le-Vivier. From there it was mostly on the walking paths (GR25C and GR25B) - down to Darnetal, then through woods and across open fields, skirting several villages, south and east to our day's destination at La Neuville-Chant-d'Oisel.

A relatively flat stretch of woods

The paths took us uphill through the woods, downhill through the woods, and through relatively flat woods and fields.

A field of rapeseed

It was another fine day - this was the third day in a row that we have been told how lucky we are. It has been good for us to have dry weather to establish a routine. But we know it won't last - rain is forecast for next week.

Despite 4 days of sunshine, the path is still quite damp in places

  1. We both had "hotspots" which we taped with Aunty June's tape - no blisters! Yesterday Russell used your wool on a "hotspot" and I used some as shoulder pads for my backpack - helped in both cases.☺
