Fortified by a wonderful breakfast at our chambre d'hôte (La Grange at Isneauville), we set off on today's stage.
We soon discovered that there are lots of hills in this part of Normandy. We started on quiet roads - downhill from Isneauville to Fontaine-les-Préaux and uphill to Roncherolles-sur-le-Vivier. From there it was mostly on the walking paths (GR25C and GR25B) - down to Darnetal, then through woods and across open fields, skirting several villages, south and east to our day's destination at La Neuville-Chant-d'Oisel.
The paths took us uphill through the woods, downhill through the woods, and through relatively flat woods and fields.
It was another fine day - this was the third day in a row that we have been told how lucky we are. It has been good for us to have dry weather to establish a routine. But we know it won't last - rain is forecast for next week.
Day: 4
Distance: 26.67km
Walking time: 5hrs 40mins
Elevation gain: 634 metres
Cumulative distance: 95.74km
any blisters yet??
ReplyDeleteWe both had "hotspots" which we taped with Aunty June's tape - no blisters! Yesterday Russell used your wool on a "hotspot" and I used some as shoulder pads for my backpack - helped in both cases.☺
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.
